Ready to Roar

In a few days we have the highlight of the queer community calendar and Dykes on Bikes will be there giving great foreplay as we have done for nearly 20 years.

Our final pre-Mardi Gras meet’n’greet is on Friday, March 4 at the Hampshire Hotel at 91 Parramatta Rd, Camperdown. This gives the out-of-town girls a chance to mingle with the locals and for us to have a last-minute gossip about outfits before the big day. Please drop in and say hi.

An advance ‘thank you’ to all the Mardi Gras volunteers who look after us so well and all our wonderful DOB volunteers and ride leaders. This couldn’t happen without you.

If you’re going to the party, don’t forget to quote the P.E.T.S. code CLOUD when you buy your tickets for a portion of your ticket price to go towards our expenses.

If you prefer something more relaxed, come to the Hampy Hotel for our traditional post-Mardi Gras get-together. Some DOB girls not attending the parade will be there from 7.30pm, watching it on the big screen, and we all head back there for a drink or two afterwards.

Next thing you know Mardi Gras will be over for another year — what do you do now? Never fear, my queer friends, DOB is here to help.

Our annual Bike and Tattoo Show is at the Hampshire Hotel on Saturday, March 19. The doors open at noon and we don’t close until the bar staff throw us out. As this is one of our fundraising events we ask a minimum of a gold coin donation on entry.

The bike show/ competition starts in the early afternoon followed by lots of wacky entertainment to keep us going until the sun goes down. Then clothing gets loosened and we start flashing our tatts.

There are great prizes to be had in both the bike and the tattoo competitions and entry is open to everyone.

Have a marvellous Mardi Gras and ride safe and sexy.
